Kirkwood Firewise Update

March 28, 2022

We are excited to share that we recently received notification that our Firewise USA ® application has been approved!!!!

Kirkwood is now a nationally recognized Firewise USA® program participant!  This is great news for everyone in Kirkwood, especially for the HOAs and entities who joined us for 2022!  Attached is the certificate and below is the link to insurance companies providing a discount to property located in a recognized Firewise Community.

What can you do next?

1) Start discussing and planning projects that will reduce fuels and wildfire hazards within your HOAs and around buildings.  Our committee members are happy to present a presentation to your board and offer project suggestions and recommendations.  (Presentation can be found here)

2) Visit our website and sign up to receive the latest information regarding upcoming seminars, community clean-up days and other important activities. https://www.kirkwoodfirewise.org/

3) Register for Kirkwood Meadows Public Utility District’s virtual Fire Safety Seminar on May 19, 2022. Learn recommendations for creating defensible space and preparing your home for a wildfire. https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_KxeetHZdTvWXnx_QXBXYRw

Together, we can and will make Kirkwood safer from wildfires! Thank you for your support!
